Breakfast

It was their impeccable attention to detail that made Mr Blott and Mr Hague so good at their jobs. It was the carefully planned operations, it was the silence with which they moved and the meticulous way they disposed of the evidence. Mr Hague shovelled the last piece of the huge omelette into his mouth, as Mr Blott carefully scanned the job board, the only feature of note in the small white kitchen. With a thin blue line he crossed out the copperplate writing that said “push Humpty off the wall”.

“So, what next Mr Hague?”, his mouth still full with egg Mr Hague shrugged, and with a silent spindly finger pointed to the line which read “collect rent”. “Right you are Mr Hague. Pass me your plate.” And with that Mr Blott cleared away the evidence of an incriminating meal.
